“Carbon Cowboys” is a slang term for proponents of restorative agricultural practices to reestablish and maintain the tilth and fertility of the soil, commonly referred to as “carbon sequestration”. In my neck of the woods with alkaline soils, most (all) of the literature is focused on acidic soils not relevant to my environment. I have read a couple of books during my Master Naturalist training to glean what I can but I am not aware of current publications.
Thank you for doing this! I feel like I've been out here almost alone, promoting Adam and a few others and generally getting ignored. I'm a good writer (a trained and experienced journalist) and a perennial farmer trying to show Iowa we can grow fruits and nuts here not just ethanol and pork. Let's do the kind of promotion of this database that shames Substack into recognizing us.

Would this include “Carbon Cowboys”?
I don’t know. Can you link the publication here and I’ll take a look.
and here is an in depth post I did on Regenerative Ocean Gardening, Kelp Farming and Marine Permaculture:

You can add your whole publication to the directory if you want.
I have just done that, thanks!

Oh Gotcha Anthony! I was aware of the umbrella term for "Carbon Cowboys," but I thought you were referencing a specific publication. 😊
Where are you based? As more writers add themselves, you might find others in your area...
Feel free to add your publication if it's ag focused.
My boots are too muddy and hands too greasy to do more than read & comment on occasion. I do appreciate the invitation .
Hey...that's REAL. You're doing your part. Thank you. 🙏
Get on the list. We can’t find each other for support and connections if you aren’t a part of the circle.
One of my posts that covers the topic of conventional agriculture:

I’ll take a look at it.

Yup. I think I was missing something obvious. 🤦🏻♂️
Glad you figured it out. 🤗
It’s good to have you on the list; you’ve got so much important info people need right now.
Does it make sense how to add your info?
Not to me. I could be missing something obvious though. I’m known to do that. 😅
I would love to see Tara Couture’s Substack on here @slowdownfarmstead
She can add herself. I just did it. It was easy!
Retract this and tag her site thanks!
Great idea! Thanks for doing it!

Thanks! How do we access this directory?
Hey Cityplot! Thanks for asking. You can access the Agriculture Writers' directory here: https://nourishingliberty.notion.site/Agriculture-Writers-on-Substack-1ccc2fc3c066804eb63fd160673798d4

Thank you for doing this. It's a great directory, thanks for doing this. I hope we get more people from all over the world adding to it!
Any chance of getting a fiction category?
